Shirley Ann Glasser, the daughter of Vern and Myrtle (Brand) Immer was born March 17, 1944. Shirley grew up in Jeffers, MN, where she graduated from High School in 1962. She attended Mankato State University and graduated in 1967, receiving her degree in English. Shirley was united in marriage to Gary Glasser on June 23, 1967 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Shirley had a love for teaching; she began her teaching career in Madelia, MN. She also taught swimming lessons, was a life guard instructor and co-manager of the Madelia community swimming pool. Between Windom and Madelia, she had taught swimming for over 50 years. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting, solitaire, and reading. Shirley was member of the United Methodist Church in Madelia, the treasurer of the Madelia Legion Auxiliary, and she helped coordinate the Memorial Day service at the school. Her most cherished accomplishment was her family especially her granddaughters. Shirley's devotion to family, friends and community left an indelible mark for everyone she knew. Shirley is survived by loving husband Gary of Madelia; sons, Brett (Trish) of CA, Garrett of Madelia; granddaughters, Paige, Jackii, Jada, Jazmin and Julia; brother, Stewart (Joyce) Immer of Zimmerman; sister, Gwen (Jack) Sundstrom of Placentia, CA; uncle, John (Hilda) Brand of Jeffers; sister-in-laws, Janet of England, Verona of Hubbard, OR, Junaveau of Sacramento, CA, Coreen of Comfrey and Diana of Hopkins and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Isaac; sister, Sharon; brother, Curtis; sister-in-law, Loris Jean; brother-in-laws, Marvin, Murland. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Church in Madelia or the Madelia swimming pool.
