Shirley Callanan

Shirley Ann Callanan was born on June 15, 1937 in Lakota, IA, the daughter of William and Rose (Miller) Joos. She graduated from Elmore High School and DeLyles Academy with a degree in Cosmetology. She worked in New Ulm, MN where she met Richard Callanan. Shirley and Richard were married on November 8, 1958 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm, MN. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye where Shirley raised their 5 children. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Morning Glory Extension Club. Shirley enjoyed the game of golf. Shirley died on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato at the age of 76 years. She is survived by her husband - Richard "Coke" Callanan of Sleepy Eye; children - Thomas Callanan of Salt Lake City, UT, Mary (Jim) Schaufler of Hutchinson, MN, Patrick (Sandra) Callanan of Plymouth, MN, Lisa Callanan of McFarland, WI, and Daniel (Theresa) Callanan of River Falls, WI; grandchildren - Anna and Ruby Schaufler, Tina and Ally Callanan, and Mya Callanan; and a sister - June Henry of Portland, OR.
