Sherwood Kaehler

Sherwood Elroy Kaehler was born February 15, 1937 at Alexandria, MN, one of eleven children, to parents Alfred and Amelia (Knopp) Kaehler. He grew up in the Morris/Hancock area where he attended school. On June 23, 1962 Sherwood was united in marriage to Shirley Gladys at Marshall, MN. The couple made their home in Petaluma, CA and Marshall, Mn before moving to Butterfield in 1974. Sherwood worked as a carpenter. He worked for Buhler Construction Company from 1974 until his retirement in 1998. Sherwood liked to go fishing and hunting, and spending time tending his garden. He loved to help out his boys on their projects. Sherwood was a great tinkerer and could fix anything. He got the greatest pleasure out of playing with his four grandchildren. Sherwood Kaehler died at the St. James Health Services Hospital on Saturday, November 10, 2007. He is survived by his wife Shirley Kaehler of Butterfield, sons and daughters-in-law, Todd Jana Kaehler of Butterfield, Jason Julie Kaehler of St. James, Chad Kaehler of Mankato, four grandchildren, Haley, Cody, Corbin, Joshua, brothers, sisters and their spouses, Bud Norene Kaehler of Morris, Shirley Dick Foley of Shakopee, Milfred Janice Kaehler of Morris, Harold Marilyn Kaehler of Morris, Kenneth Laurie Kaehler of Petaluma, CA, Donald Kaehler of Sacramento, CA, Carolyn Zetner of Sebastopol, CA, Barbara Lynn Fritz of Camdenton, MO. He is proceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Gene Anderson, brother-in-law Jerry Gladys.
