Sharon Malott

July 19, 1936 — December 26, 2020

Sharon Malott, age 84, formerly of St. James, passed away at her home in Oak Park Heights, MN, on Saturday, December 26, 2020. A private funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with Pastor Lyla Klee officiating. Burial will follow at Long Lake Lutheran Cemetery in rural St. James. Sharon was born July 19th, 1936 in Odin, Minnesota to Melvin Siem and Ethel Hammer Siem. She was the youngest of 3 children. She passed away December 26th, 2020 in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota with her son Tim and daughter in law June at her side. She will be dearly missed. Sharon was baptized, confirmed and married at Long Lake Lutheran Church. She now returns there to be buried. The journey of her life is complete, she is back home at the simple country church she knew so well. Sharon attended St. James schools and graduated in 1954. She married Elden Malott on March 20th, 1955. By this marriage 2 sons were born. Timothy in 1958 and Barry in 1959. In 1965 the family moved to Little Falls/ Minnesota. She lived there for the next 35 years. During this time she worked at the drug store and bank. In 1975 she became the secretary at her church, Zion Lutheran before retiring in 1995. While in Little Falls she enjoyed church and social activities. Her main hobby was ceramics. She made some beautiful pieces. In 2001 they returned to St. James to be closer to family members. During their retirement years they often went to Texas to see Barry and his family. She enjoyed volunteering at several organizations in St. James. Sharon is survived by her son Tim, (June), of Oak Park Heights. Grandchildren Jason, Jessica, Matthew/ Andrew and Kathryn. Great Grandchildren Andrew, Hailey, Kiera, and Jacob. Her sister in law Ardis Halter, Aunt Laverne Hammer. Also many nieces, nephews and their spouses. She was preceded by her parents, husband Elden in 2016, son Barry in 2010. Brother Dale Siem and sister Ramona Niemeier. Also many cousins, nieces and in laws.
