Sharon Berndt

Sharon Berndt, age 74, of St. James, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by those she loved on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Graveside services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Spirit Hill Cemetery in Jordan, Minnesota with Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Friday October 1st at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James from 5pm to 8pm. Sharon Kay Shepherd was born on August 8, 1947, in New London, Ohio. She was the daughter of Norman and Rena (Nielson) Shepherd . Her father was in the military so Sharon grew up in several communities around the Country. She graduated from high school in San Jose, California. After high school she went to work at a electrical manufacturing company doing assembly soldering. She moved to Shakopee, Minnesota in 1977 where she met Robert Berndt. On September 27, 1980, the couple were married and later that year moved to their farm just outside St. James. Sharon enjoyed living on the farm, she loved working in her garden and doing yard work and just being outside. She is survived by her husband, of 41 years, Bob Berndt of St. James, daughters; Kellie (Doug) Mohrbacher of Belle Plaine, Nancy (Dan) Sandberg of St. James, grandchildren; Christina (Cody) Butler of Belle Plaine, Tyler (Taylor) Mohrbacher of Nicollet, Kimmy (Tyler Zilverberg) Mohrbacher of Mankato, Drake Surber of Belle Plaine, great-grandchildren; Daisee, Malakai Callahan, Hailee, Everleigh, and Addi, sister; Roxy Knowles of Mound, brother; Terry (Debbie) Shepherd of Belle Plaine, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law;Randy (Mary Alice) Berndt of Bozeman, MT, Karen (Brian) Sykes of Marlton, AR, Roger (Cindy) Berndt of St. James, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Sheba. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Roberta Melton, Norma Stimpson, brothers; Gary Shepherd and Floyd Shepherd.
