Scott Maas

September 22, 1961 — February 6, 2015

Scott B. Maas, born September 22, 1961 to William and Janice (Schneider) Maas in New Ulm, MN (Brown County), passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at the age of 53. Most recently a resident of Hudson, WI, he attended grade school in Owatonna, MN and later in Fairmont, MN. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1980. A dedicated member of the Boy Scouts, he attained their highest honor, becoming an Eagle Scout at the age of 17. After receiving his BS degree in Computer Science from the University of MN, he began working for Deluxe Co. He then became a contracted computer programmer for US Bank, Allianz Insurance and Thomsen Reuters in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. As a committed member of his community, he volunteered as an EMT at the Metrodome and for the University of MN Athletics, granting him the opportunity to participate as a medic in the Minnesota Twins World Series appearances in 1987 and 1991. An avid sports fan, he always rooted for the University of MN Golden Gophers, Minnesota Vikings, and Minnesota Twins. As a Twins fan, he often traveled to Ft. Myers, FL to attend spring training practice and games. He is survived by his parents, brothers Daryl Maas and wife Linda of N. Mankato, MN and Ryan Maas of Goode, VA, his nephews Alex and Austin, nieces Catherine and Lorelei, aunts, uncles and cousins.
