Sarah Regehr was born December 3, 1917, at Henderson, Nebraska the daughter of Peter and Maria (Buller) Krause. When she was 4 years old the family moved to Radison, Wisc. before moving to Mountain Lake, Minn. The family lived on several different farms between Mt. Lake, Jeffers and Delft. Sarah attended several country schools and graduated the 8th grade in 1932. In 1934, she was baptized at the Gospel Mennonite Church in Mt. Lake. Sarah helped with family chores at home until she was 18. She then went to work for another farm family taking care of two small children and helping around the farm. During the winter months she helped in town with small children and house chores. On June 22, 1938, she married Londo Regehr and they made their home on a small farm north of Mt. Lake for a couple years and then moved to a larger farm where they farmed for the next 10 years. In 1950, with five children Londo and Sarah purchased their own farm southwest of Butterfield where they lived until retirement in 1976. They didn't take frequent vacations so the trip to the North Shore, Montana, and Niagara Falls were memorable ones. Sarah enjoyed family gatherings. She enjoyed reading, baking and gardening. She was an active volunteer at church and the Christian school where she was involved in several groups. She enjoyed working at the Care & Share where she clerked and did clothes mending. She also was active in the Senior Citizen Center in Mt. Lake. She loved spending time with family and friends. She spent the last five years enjoying the wonderful care, activities and love shown her at the Good Samaritan Society Village in Mt. Lake.
