Sandra Olson

Sandra Olson, age 77, of St. James died in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with Chaplain Gary Creech officiating. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 6-8pm and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. A luncheon will be served at the American Legion in St. James following the service. Sandra Lee Oskerson was born on July 18, 1944 in Winnebago, MN, the daughter of Norris and Doris (Stauffer) Oskerson. She grew up in several communities in Southern Minnesota and graduated from high school in Bricelyn. Sandra had worked for many years at Telex, moved to the Twin Cities where she worked as a PCA and did home cleaning before returning to Truman where she worked at the nursing home and later at Walmart in Fairmont. On May 27, 2005, she married Curtis Olson and moved to St. James. Sandy loved spending time outside where she tended her flower garden and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She like helping Curt with yard work, and evening cook outs. Sandy is survived by her husband Curt of St. James, daughters; Luwana (John) Pohl of Apple Valley, Jodi (Shawn) Rettig of Spencer, IA, Patty Meyer (Brett Rich) of Truman, brother Darrell Oskerson of St. James, sister Brenda (Loren) Engholm of Brainerd, 6 grandchildren; Erin (Luis) Serrano of Elmhurst, IL, Tyler (Teah) Meyer of Wells, Taylor Meyer of Truman, Nicole (Kyle) Flohrs of Trimont, Denver Olmstead of Spencer, IA, Teanna Meyer of Truman, 2 step-grandchildren; Dakota (Becca) Rettig and Theron Rettig, 6 great-grandchildren; Sofia Serrano, Jaxson Meyer, Aris Rettig, Noah Simmons, Kaven Rettig and Fenyx Rettig. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister LaVonne Lunz and sister-in-law Jeanette Oskerson.
