Ruth Margaret (Wog) Meyer was born on March 24, 1914 in Charlestown Township, Redwood County, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Abigail (Lackie) Wog. She graduated from Sanborn High School in 1932, attended teachers training in Redwood Falls, and taught in rural schools in Redwood County. Ruth married Juel Eugene Meyer on June 25, 1936, in Springfield, MN. They farmed in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County until moving into Springfield in 1968. Ruth was a member of Sundown Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was a Ladies Aid member. She was also a past president of the Springfield Hospital Auxiliary and the Springfield Senior Citizens. Ruth became a resident of St. John Lutheran Home in April 2001. She was very appreciative of the loving care she received there and enjoyed participating in chapel services and therapeutic recreation activities. Ruth enjoyed reading, playing cards, hand work, visiting and especially her beloved family. Ruth Meyer died Sunday, August 12, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN at the age of 93. Ruth is survived by children - son - Willis and wife Jeanette Meyer of Sanborn, daughter - Judy and husband Gary Weedman of Springfield; 9 grandchildren - Jeff (Meg) Meyer, Jolene (Gerald-Lee) Dammann, Steven Meyer, Suzanne (Sheldon) Gerdes, Jon (Nicole) Weedman, Kelly (Brent) Weber, Koree (Jim) Boyle, Greg (Miranda) Weedman and Kim Weedman; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law - Roy Meyer and Ronald Johnson, and two sisters-in-law, Malinda (Peg) Meyer and Sylvia Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband - Juel in 1981, two sisters - Agnetta Runck and Luella Steve and one brother - Andrew Wog.
