Ruth Ann Jones

Ruth Ann Jones was born March 29, 1930, in Kimball Township, Jackson County, MN to Leo and Mae (Kruger) Gohr. She was confirmed at the Kimball Lutheran Church in 1944, and graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1948. Ruth then attended Mankato Beauty School and graduated in 1949. She was a Minnesota Certified Registered cosmologist and worked in Worthington, Balaton and Pipestone. Ruth then owned and operated Modern Beauty Shop for 23 years in Fulda. She was united in marriage to Alvin Henry Jones on November 17, 1950, in Sioux Falls, SD and the couple farmed together for 35 years. Ruth was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake and she taught Sunday School for 7 years while a member of Balaton Lutheran Church. She was also a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary while she lived in Fulda. Ruth enjoyed gardening, bowling (her high score was a 274), crocheting, embroidery, collecting dolls, crafts and traveling. Ruth Ann Jones died Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Windom Area Hospital at the age of 85 years. She is survived by children- Allen (Sandy Kracht) Jones of Wisconsin, Lyle (Katie) Jones of North Mankato, and Arla (Dr. Michael) Klepczyk of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren- Avery Tate of El Paso, TX, Kristen (Brandon) Burstad of New Ulm, Nicole Jones of Mankato, Kerri (Josh) Allen of Sioux Falls, Michael Jones of Mankato, Peter Le Beau of Mankato, and Rachel Le Beau of Mankato; great-grandchildren- Brailee Tate, and Caden, Leah and Aubrey Brustad; sisters- Jeanette Hale, Lois (Melvin) Friesen and Leola Gohr, all of Mountain Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alvin in 2006; grandchild Kierstin Klepczyk; brothers- Francis (Bud) Gohr and George Gohr; and sister Lorraine Devens.
