Ruth Jackson

Ruth Marie Verhage, the daughter of William and Helen (Gould) Verhage was born on October 31, 1918, in St. James, MN. Ruth grew up and received her education in St. James, and she graduated from the St. James High School. After high school she worked as a telephone operator and at the local jewelry store. On September 12, 1943, Ruth was united in marriage to John A. Jackson in St. James. They made their home in St. James where Ruth raised their three children and cared for the home. Mr. Jackson died on July 31, 1989. Ruth contined to live in her home until moving to Pleasantview Good Samaritan Center in 1996. She was active in the St. James Assembly of God Church, where her devotion to her Lord led her to teach Sunday School for many years. Ruth died on Saturday afternoon, July 29, 2006, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Ruth is survived by her three children, Randy and wife Georgia Jackson of St. Peter, MN, Alan and wife Sandra Jackson of Defiance, MO, and Lynette and husband Jerry Noren of St. James; five grandchildren, Melissa Holms, Tim Jackson, Kylee Noren, Jarah Noren and Andrea Noren; three great grandchildren, Zachery Rewald, Cameron Jackson and Christian Holms; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
