Ruth Dallman

Ruth Wilhelmina Dallmann was born October 21, 1916 to Benjamin and Augusta (Lohmann) Zieske in New Ulm, MN. The family moved to Cobden when she was 6 months old. She also lived in Waterbury Township, Lamberton, Sanborn and back to Cobden in 1965. On June, 12, 1946 Ruth married Melvin Dallmann in Springfield, MN. Ruth taught in rural country schools, Olivia, Sleepy Eye and Springfield Public Schools as a kindergarten teacher for 10 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle and active in Sunday School and Bible School and was on the church library committee. She was also a member of the Brown County and Minnesota Retired Teacher's Association and St. John Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed painting, gardening and reading. Ruth Dallmann, age 92, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN. Ruth is survived by a sister-in-law Clara Zieske of New Ulm and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband - Melvin; brothers - Benjamin, Wade and George; and sisters - Ann Kinstler, Luella Dallmann, Viola Nelson.
