Ruby Shellum

Ruby Emma Shellum, the daughter of Carl and Tillie (Schwartz) Ekstrom was born on September 3, 1924 in Butterfield, MN. Ruby was united in marriage to Irwin Shellum on October 23, 1949. This marriage was blessed with one son, Robert. Ruby and Irwin made their home on a farm near Godahl. Ruby was a volunteer at Luther Memorial Nursing Home. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. Ruby is survived by her son, Robert C. Shellum of Parachute, CO; 1 grandchild and one great grandchild; brother, John Ekstrom of Butterfield; sister, Marcella Vatndal of Mankato; and 6 nieces and 4 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Irwin. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia.
