Rosie Dick

Rosie Mae Bupp was born in York, PA on August 1, 1919, where she was raised with the Rev. Leaman family. On January 1, 1946, Rosie was united in marriage to Leonard W. Dick at Hanover, PA. They lived in PA for four years before moving to Mountain Lake, MN, where they farmed together until Leonard's death on November 25, 1974. Rosie continued to live on the farm with her son until 1986, when she moved in to Mountain Lake. Following Leonard's death, Rosie took a job at the Mountain Lake Hospital,where she served as a cook until her retirement. She enjoyed volunteering at the Care Share in Mountain Lake, reading, Find-A-Word puzzles, and cooking baking. She was also an active member of the Communtiy Bible Church in Mountain Lake. Rosie had a healthy sense of humor that helped here through her difficult times. She moved to the Good Samaritan Village in April 2003, and this is where she died on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at the age of 87 years. Rosie is survived by her son, Harold Dick and his wife Lillian of Mountain Lake; two grandchildren, Lenny Dick and Kim Dick, both of Mountain Lake; a step grandson, John Buley of Heron Lake, MN; three sisters, Agnes Hertzler and her husband Russel of Dillsburg, PA, Helen Venable and her husband John of York, PA, and Ethel Miller of York; six sisters-in-law, Betty Bupp and Louise Bupp both of York, and Rosella Janzen, Cecelia Dick, Annette Dick and Helen Dick all of Mountain Lake; many other relativesand friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Dick; three brothers, Joe, George and Jim Bupp; five brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
