Rosemary Rathman

December 25, 1938 — November 10, 2019

Rosemary was born in Leavenworth to Martin and Louisa Mathiowetz December 25, 1938. She attended Sleepy Eye Public School. Rosemary married James Dean Rathman April 23, 1957 and lived on several farms outside Comfrey. Rosemary was a gifted horticulturalist growing beautiful gladiolas, oriental lilies, tulips and other florals. She shared her talent by providing beautiful floral arrangements weekly to several churches and senior facilities in Comfrey and Sleepy Eye. In addition to all the flowers, Rosemary grew strawberries and raspberries which she made into Jelly and Jams and donated to many of the church dinners and homes. Any friends that would stop by would never leave empty handed as she almost always gave them flowers, fresh raspberries or strawberries to enjoy. During the Summer Rosemary and Jim spent time at Lake Kandiyohi and loved it when family or friends stopped by to visit. She would also use this time to relax and read a good book as she was a prolific reader. Rosemary is survived by her husband, James and children Gerard Rathman and Daughter-in-Law Joy Rathman of Comfrey, Danette Lincoln and Son-in-Law, Sayed Alzaman of Ham Lake and Deborah Rathman and Son-in-Law Kenneth Rivera of Saint Paul.
