Rosemary Pankratz, age 79, of Springfield, MN died on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her home in Brookville Township.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN and will continue on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery in Springfield.
Rosemary Pankratz was born on September 13, 1946, in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of John and Edith (Sellner) Rosenstengel. She attended school in Mulligan Township and Church of the Japanese Martyrs Catholic School before attending high school and graduating from Comfrey High School. Growing up on a farm in Mulligan Township working her whole life milking cows and helping in the fields. She was united in marriage to Clifford Pankratz on September 18, 1982, at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth, MN. Rosemary would help Clifford on the farm and with the Aerial Spraying business. She loved spending time on the farm with her grandkids and visiting people. Rosie enjoyed embroidery, her cows and chickens, going for drives around the countryside, driving the gator around the farm, trip north to Alexandria with her son, listening to concertina music and watching Band Wagon. She was proud of raising her children on the Pankratz family farm in Brookville Township where she could teach her son how to farm following Cliff's death.
She is survived by her children - Gregory Pankratz of Springfield, MN and Sarah (Torri) All Runner of Morgan, MN; grandchildren - Hailey, Quinn, and Elijah All Runner; sisters - Doris Moe of Hendricks, MN and Bernetta Hesse of St. James, MN; a sister-in-law - Jeanette Rosenstengel of Leavenworth, MN; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Clifford on January 7, 2012; sisters - Catherine Steffl and Bernice Rosenstengel; a brother - Eddie Rosenstengel; and parents-in-law - Leo and Pearl Pankratz.
