Rose Mary Bertrand was born August 22, 1917 in New Ulm, MN to Paul Elizabeth (Madory) Bertrand. She moved with her family to Home Township when she was three years old and attended St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. She married Leo J. Hoffmann on October 28, 1935. They farmed for two years near Evan then moved to a farm northeast of Sleepy Eye where they lived until Leo's death (April 28, 1961). Rose Mary married Leonard Kral of Sleepy Eye on August 22, 1963. She was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was active in the Christian Mothers Society, NCSF Court, CCW, and St. Mary's R Section. She held various offices on the Divine Providence Auxiliary and Catholic Conference Club. She was a leader of the Wide Awakes 4-H Club and Prairieville Home Extension and was currently a member of the Qui Vive Club. Rose Mary loved and took pride in her home and family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved friends and neighbors. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing, holidays, and helping with the day care children. She believed in the Golden Rule, having fun, that teenagers needed a second chance, and being forever young! Rose Mary leaves six children, Eileen Mary (Lenny) McNab of Battle Lake, Leon (Susan) of Sleepy Eye, Priscilla Dudley of Lake City, Marjorie (Joe) Balint of Burnsville, Daniel (Christine) of Sleepy Eye, Curtis (LaDonna) of Sleepy Eye; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo Hoffmann; husband, Leonard Kral; daughter, Sister Margeen; brothers, Ambrose, Clement, Florian, and Bernard; sister, Beatrice Ryan; son-in-law, Dr. Stephen Dudley; daughter-in-law, Donna Marie Hoffmann; and granddaughter, Mona Marie Hoffmann.
