Memorials are preferred. Ronald Erwin Jenkins was born May 29, 1917, in Adrian Township to parents Earl Hildur (Steege) Jenkins. Ron lived in Adrian Township his entire life until retiring and moving into St. James in October 2007. Ron went to Country School Dist 44 and graduated from Butterfield High School then attended the University of Minnesota. He later served as a School Board member of Dist 44 from 1948 until 1971. On February 16, 1941 Ron was united in marriage to LaDonna Grunig in Butterfield. They mad their home on the farm in Adrian Twsp. where they raised their family. Ron farmed and fed cattle and hogs for 63 years before retiring. Ron enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, gardening and traveling. He was a charter member of the farmer's market in St. James, served on the Board of the Threshing Bee, and was active at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where he served as a board member, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister-in-law. Ron is survived by his wife LaDonna Jenkins of St. James, four daughters and their husbands Jerri Jenkin Tom Morgan of St. Louis Park, Jean Kintzi of Sheridan, WY, Julie Jenkins Harry Greenwell of New Albin, IA, Jayne Jenkins Bill Gorman of Laramie, WY, grandchildren Kelly Rae Kintzi of Billings, MT, Richard Laura Kintzi of Sheridan, WY, Josh Theresa Smith of Winona, Eva Smith of Rochester, Travis Morgan of Orlando, FL, Tanya Davide Raso of Maple Grove, great-grandchildren Logan Jerica Smith of Winona, Luca Elena Raso of Maple Grove, Katelynn Zachary Kintzi of Sheridan, WY and Calvin Smith-Vanderstoep of Rochester and 2 nephews Richard and Stephen Jenkins.
