Ronald Keith Elkins

Ronald Elkins, age 88, of Madelia, Minnesota, died on September 26, 2025, at Madelia Health Hospital.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at St. Mary's School in Madelia.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, October 4 at 1:00pm.

Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery - Madelia.

Ronald Keith Elkins was born October 11, 1936, to Russell and Lona Elkins in Madelia, MN. He attended country school and then Madelia public schools, graduating in 1954. In 1956, he married Catherine Pauley and they raised four children in Madelia.

Ronald worked at Jacobson Grocery - Gamble Store and in July of 1956, went to work at the Madelia Telephone Company; he was promoted to manager in 1964, appointed Vice President in 1984, and was employed there for 42 years.

Ronald served as Rotary Club President, Chamber of Commerce President, School Board, Finance Commission of St Mary's Church, and served on the Madelia Fire Department for 21 years.

In his free time, he loved fishing, hunting, wintering in Texas, summers at the lake and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his children, Cindy Breitbarth, Rick (Lisa) Elkins, Joanne (Paul) Evjen, all of Madelia, Doug (Sandy) Elkins of Mankato; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Cole of Wisconsin Dells, WI; sister-in-law, Kathy Elkins of Oak Park Heights, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine; granddaughter, Carissa; sister, Bonnie, and brother, Mert.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
