Ron Lindeen

September 24, 1937 — October 3, 2014

Ronald Wayne Lindeen was born September 24, 1937 to Wilbur and Ethel Lindeen. Ron was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey. As a young man he played fast pitch softball for Darfur for many years. Ron graduated from Comfrey High School in 1955. He married Rosalie Triplett of Comfrey at the West Sveadahl Lutheran Church of rural St. James on April 30, 1960. They have resided on the Lindeen family farm since their marriage. Ron followed his passion and started farming with his dad in 1958 after he attended Ag School at South Dakota State in Brookings, SD. In 1966 Ron's dad became ill so he and Rosalie took over the farm where they raised cattle and hogs and farmed grain. Ron enjoyed baseball, fast pitch softball, watching high school events, and was a very avid bowler. He was active with the Cottonwood Co. Beef Producers and also the MN State Cattlemen's Association. Ron received the Cattlemen of the Year award and the Outstanding Service award from the Cottonwood Beef Producers. He was also named MN State Cattleman of the Year in 1990. Ron was elected to the Adrian Township Board in 1958, was chairman for 25 plus years, and served until his death. Ron served on the church council of the past Faith Lutheran Church and also served on the building committee of the New Hope Lutheran Church following the Comfrey tornado. He also served on the Watonwan Co. Planning and Zoning board for 16 years, as service coordinator for the MSCA, the Comfrey Community Education board from the time it started until 2011 - 37 years, and Watonwan Farm Bureau. Ron is survived by his wife Rosalie; brother-in-law James Triplett; and nephews- Geoffrey and family, Jason, and Joseph and family. He was preceded in death by his parents- Wilbur and Ethel Lindeen.
