Romana Winifred Klaras was born November 3, 1925, in St. James, MN, the daughter eldest of James and Barbara (Andert) Klaras. She grew up in St. James attending St. James Catholic School through the 8th grade and graduating from St. James High School in 1943. She worked for W.G. Manning at the Manning Fuel Company. On January 22, 1945, Romana was united in marriage to John Posch. The couple made their home on the Posch Family Farm near St. James where she lived for 58 years. She moved into St. James in 2003. She traveled to Arizona, where she wintered each year since 1997. She was living at Valle Del Oro in Mesa, AZ, she was the Queen of block 77, an honor she enjoyed. Romana enjoyed tending her flower garden, corsages and arranged flowers, quilting, golf, reading, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a volunteer with Mission of America, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, Club 21, Winona Council of Catholic Women, the St. Theresa Study Club and the Red Hat Society. Romana was a communion minister for those residents at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James for many years. Romana was outgoing and energetic with a good sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved talking to people and could engage almost anyone in a lively conversation. There were no strangers in Romana's life only friends she had not met yet. She is survived by her children; Arthur and Paulette Posch of Santa Barbara, CA, Thomas and Connie Posch of Northfield, MN, Mark and Michelle Posch of Andover, MN, Mary and Allen Bellmore of Devils Lake, ND, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, brothers; Jerome Klaras of Hoyt Lakes, MN, John and Joyce Klaras of Seneca, SC, sister; Elizabeth and Donald Trusty of Ft. Ripley, MN, sisters-in-law; Lila Klaras of Gilbert, MN, Gertrude Klaras of Webster, MN, and Darlene Klaras of Elgin, IL and many close nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband, John, brothers; James, Robert and Richard Klaras, and a sister and brother-in-law; Barbara and Jack Gosen, and sisters-in-law; Betty Klaras and Lucy Burke. Romana's legacy is her outgoing and energetic personality with a good sense of humor and quick wit .She loved talking and being with people.
