Roman Hillesheim

Roman was born to Frank Catherine (Goblirsch) Hillesheim on March 12, 1922 in Stark Townhip. On Oct. 12, 1943 he was united in marriage to Angela Huiras. After marriage he drove bulk truck for Brown County Oil and later farmed in Stark Township. Angela passed away on Jan. 31, 1994. In October 1995 he married Marlee (Gulden) Huiras. Roman enjoyed playing cards, entertaining with his concertina, was an excellent metal and woodworking craftsman and was especially proud of serving as caretaker of the Iberia Cemetery. Roman Hillesheim, 89, of Sleepy Eye died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011 at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Roman is survived by his sons, Jerome (Nancy) of Lake Crystal, Paul (Laurie) of Sleepy Eye, Richard (Jill) of Mankato, John of Springfield, Phil (Winnie) of Yuma, AZ, Robert special friend, Patricia of Sleepy Eye, Roman, Jr. (Carolyn) of Moss Point, MS; daughters, Rita (Tom) Christoffel of Westford, MA, Kathy (Chuck) Krzmarzick and Marlene (Doug) Pelzel of Sleepy Eye, Annette (Gary) Braun of Madelia, Jeanne (Tom) Guldager of Howell, NJ and Lori (Dan) Braun of Sleepy Eye; 28 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sisters, Bernice (Leo) Ludwig of Comfrey, Bernette (Clifford) Schumacher of Sleepy Eye; sisters-in-law, Alice (Linus) Hillesheim of New Ulm, Donna (Albert) Hillesheim of Clements, Betty (Lawrence) Doran of Everly, Iowa, aunt, Mary Turbes of Sleepy Eye and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouses, Angela and Marlee, brothers, Walter, Albert, Leslie, Linus, Lawrence; sisters, Loretta Roiger and Veronica Groebner; sisters-in-law, Florence (Walter) and Angie (Leslie) Hillesheim and brothers-in-law, Ray Roiger and Walter Groebner.
