Roger Kueker

Roger Arnold Kueker was born May 9, 1944 at St. James, MN, to parents Arnold and Luella (Pietsch) Kueker. Roger grew up in Butterfield where he graduated from the Butterfield-Odin High School in 1962. He served in the Minnesota National Guard for six years. Roger was married to Donna Knaack on May 3, 1969 at the Methodist Church in St. James. The couple made their home in Butterfield. Roger worked at the Butterfield GTA Grain Elevator for 20 years before going to work for the Harvestland Elevator in Springfield in the mid 1980s. Roger worked at the Springfield elevator until the elevator accident on April 13, 2002. Roger and Donna are members of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Butterfield. Roger enjoyed watching sports on TV especially the Vikings and Twins. He also enjoyed doing yard work and mowing the lawn. After his retirement, he and Donna enjoyed travelling with Dan and Margaret Janzen. Roger loved spending time with his grandchildren and family and friends. Roger Kueker died at his home on Monday, March 31, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Donna Kueker of Butterfield, his daughters and their families, Kelly and Paul Kangas and their children Maija and Mikayla of Shorewood, Kimberly and Michael Goembel and their daughter Kelsie of Sioux Falls, SD, his brother, Kenneth and Bonnie Kueker and their sons Brent and Brad of Butterfield. Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
