Robert Tollefson

Robert 'Rob' Jerry Tollefson was born September 1, 1954, in Aberdeen, SD to Edward and Majory (Hoffman) Tollefson. The family lived in Neenah, WI, and Brookings, SD before moving to Owatonna where Rob graduated from high school in 1972. Rob met Jan Woker in Owatonna and the couple was married on September 10, 1977 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden, MN. Rob graduated from Mankato State University in 1977, then taught in Dupree, SD for 3 years before moving to Springfield and teaching until 2004. He was a member of the Springfield Golf Club and enjoyed golfing, bowling, coaching baseball and softball, and playing fast-pitch softball in Meriden and slow-pitch softball in Springfield. Rob was a huge Green Bay Packer and New York Yankee fan. He loved teaching and will be fondly remembered by his former students. Rob Tollefson died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at his home at the age of 58 years. He is survived by wife Jan of Springfield; children- Jesse Tollefson and fiancee' Becky Horgen of Rosemount, and Jill Tollefson of Seattle, WA; mother Majory Froehlich of Owatonna; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ervin and Louise Woker of Owatonna; brothers- Rick (Emily) Tollefson of Owatonna, and Tris (Pat) Tollefson of Preston; sister Barb Zeman of Owatonna; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
