Robert Louis Stevensen

Robert Stevensen, age 87, of Madelia, Minnesota, died on December 14, 2025, at his home.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 21, 2025, 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Faith Lutheran Church - Madelia and will continue Monday, 9:00am to 10:00am at Faith Lutheran Church - Madelia.

Funeral Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church - Madelia on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:00am. The clergy will be Rev. Penny Johnson.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.

Robert Louis Stevensen was born July 14, 1938, to Jacob and Arlene Stevensen in Granby Township near Nicollet, MN. He was raised in Madelia and graduated from Madelia High School in 1956. On March 11, 1961, he married Virginia Upton in Lake Crystal, MN and they raised their 3 children on a farm in rural Madelia. Robert and Virginia moved to town in 1977.

Robert worked at Kraft Foods in New Ulm, MN for 43 years. He also raised hogs and did farmwork for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Madelia Sportsman's Club. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Robert often attended his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events over the years. He was very proud of all of them.

Robert is survived by his children, Todd (Linda) Stevensen, Becky (Gary) McCabe, Daniel (Tina) Stevensen, all of Madelia; grandchildren, Rylee, Jared, Alyssa, Tyler, Bob, Janna, Callie, Kayla, Natalie, Daria, Brittany, Brianna and Brooklyn; 27 great-grandchildren; and brother, David (Mary) Stevensen of Madelia. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Stevensen; parents, Jacob and Arlene Stevensen; brothers, Ronald Stevensen and Duane Stevensen; sister, Barbara (Stevensen) Sorenson, and granddaughter, Lindsy.
