Robert Wesley Minion age 72, of Mountain Lake, Minnesota died on March 6, 2021, at his home in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the American Lutheran Church. Service will be held at the American Lutheran Church, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm. The clergy will be Pastor Adam Roberts. Interment will be at the Mountain Lake City Cemetery in Mountain Lake, Minnesota with full military honors by the Mountain Lake American Legion, the Butterfield VFW and the US Dept. of Defense. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Mtn. Lake, Minnesota. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Bob was born on May 5, 1948 in Mountain Lake, MN to Wesley and Arsella (Harder) Minion. He graduated from Mountain Lake in 1967. He then went on to follow in his father's footsteps and enlisted the US Army in November of 1967. He was honorably discharged in November of 1970. On August 3, 1974 Bob married the love of his life, Carol Jean Elness. In 1977 he graduated from ASI with a diploma in Mobile Engine Service and Vehicle Maintenance. In 1986, Bob and Carol welcomed their son, Jason Robert Minion into their family. Along with his passion for family and friends, Bob loved helping others and antique construction equipment. He enjoyed hi 15 years of service as Commander for the American Legion in Mountain Lake. He also drove Sober Cab in Windom for 15 years. Bob loved to meet others and socialize through his work. He loved to reminisce and share stories of the past. He was known for his compassion, generosity and humbleness. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Arsella; father, Wesley; wife, Carol; brother, Daniel; and granddaughter, Caroline.
