On Wednesday, March 13th, 2019, Robert Larson beloved husband and father of three passed away at age 70 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Bob was born September 11, 1948 in Tyler, MN to Walter and Gertrude Larson. Bob grew up on a farm near Milroy, MN with five brothers and one sister. Bob graduated from Milroy High School in 1965 and after graduation, attended Mankato State University graduating in 1969 with a degree in teaching. He quickly found a job teaching middle school English in St. James, MN and spent the next 33 years there teaching English, coaching basketball, and mentoring new teachers. Bob was voted MN teacher of the year in 1999. On July 20, 1967, Robert married Nancy Pederson and together they had three children, Daughters Wendi and Jeni and a son Paul who died in infancy. Bob was a proud lifetime member of Eagles Arie 3420 and served the club in many different roles. Bob was always ready with a good joke or bit of wise advice. His quick smile and hearty laughter will be missed by all who knew him. Bob will always be remembered for his love of friends and family, teaching, good music, cold beer, hunting, a good game of pool or a motorcycle ride with friends on a beautiful summer day. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 27, 2019 from 2-5pm at the St. James Eagles Club. The family is requesting that no flowers or plants be sent. Memorials can be sent to the family or a charitable organization in Bobs name. Bob is survived by his wife Nancy, son-in-laws Jeremy Johnson (Jeni) of Mankato and Gary Anderson (Wendi) of St. James, and grandsons Nicholas and Noah Anderson. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Paul, daughters Wendi and Jeni, and brothers Richard and David.
