Robert Henry Evers was born January 9, 1931 to John and Henrietta Evers. After a very early death of his mother, he also had another mother, Minnie Johnson Evers. He was baptized and later confirmed his faith at Christ Church in Stately Township. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He spent the majority of his life feeding cattle and farming before retiring and moving to Springfield in 2004. On June 26, 1967 he married Adonna Pohl Siefkes and she joined him on the farm with her four children. They added two daughters of their own to complete the family Bob was a member of New Hope Church in Comfrey and an active member of the community. He served on the boards of St. John Lutheran Home, Comfrey School, Comfrey Hospital, and the Cattlemen's Association. He was the Chairman of the Salem Church Board and the Men's Valentine Supper. He enjoyed gardening, decorating the yard with many flowers in the summer and stringing outdoor lights at Christmas time. Family was the most important part of his life. He loved making trips to the grocery store and grilling for all the family get-togethers. The more the merrier! Bob suffered a stroke in 2006 and was confined to a wheelchair but he still enjoyed visiting the neighbors. Bob went into the hospital December 2, 2013,and he was transferred to St John's home on December 17th. He went to be with his Lord on January 2, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Adonna of Springfield, his six children: Stacey (Chris) Vasecka of New Prague, MN, Robin (Lowell) George of Roseville, MN, Bradley Siefkes of Honolulu, HI, Jeanine (Mike) Krzmarzick of Maple Grove, MN, Kent (Virginia) Siefkes of Raleigh, NC, and Leanne (Mike) DeMotts of St. Paul, MN, fourteen Grandchildren: Brent (Jennie) Krzmarzick, Greg (Heather) Krzmarzick, Kyle Krzmarzick; Marissa and Jessica Siefkes; Bethany, Marcus, Katelyn and Benjamin Vasecka, Emily and Garrett Evans, Brooklyn Langham, Jacklyn and Austin George; four Great Grandchildren: Caiden, Chase and Connor Krzmarzick, and Landon Krzmarzick. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Gniffke and Arlene Fox; and nephew, Dave Fox.
