Robert Emmert

Robert (Bob) Ralph Emmert, of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, stepped into Eternity to meet his Lord Jesus, and reunite with his bride, Arpa, on February 18, 2021, at the age of 88 at Good Samaritan Society-The Village, Mt Lake in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Private Family Services will be held. Interment will be at the Mountain Lake City Cemetery in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Mtn. Lake, Minnesota. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Bob was born on April 26, 1932, and grew up in Sweet Home, Oregon, a beloved son of Ivan and Rolena Emmert. He leaves behind two siblings, Carolyn (Carol) Groat, and Donald (Don) Emmert. He is preceeded in death by his parents, and three siblings: Virginia (Ginny) Miller, Harold Emmert, and Patricia (Pat) Kehm. Bob's brother Harold, two years his senior, died at the age of 4 of spinal meningitis. At the time of Harold's death, he asked his mother to have Bob be quiet, because he was hearing the angels sing. He said, "They're so beautiful. Can't you see them, mom?" We know those same angels welcomed Bob Home, 86 years later. Bob left the West Coast to attend college in Omaha, Nebraska at Grace Bible Institute, where he met the love of his life, Arpa Stoesz. After a short (though it seemed long to them) courtship and engagement, Bob and Arpa were married on November 25, 1951; Bob was only 19 years old. The early months of marriage were spent in Oregon while Bob worked for his family's logging business; they later moved to Minnesota and Bob began a farming career followed by real estate sales. Still kids themselves, they went on to become parents to Byron, Cheryl, and Michael. The two were together nearly 68 years. It is a testament to their faithfulness to the Lord, and Bob's spiritual leadership, that all three children went on to serve in vocational ministry. Bob will be fondly remembered for his seemingly unparalleled strength, both physical and internal. He was a hard-worker and dedicated provider with a wonderful four-octave vocal range. The smooth, deep resonance of his voice will forever be remembered by any who were privileged to be near him as he approached the Throne in prayer. He leaves a legacy of patience, love, and kindness, fully embodying all fruits of the Spirit, known in his community for his loyal friendship to those most in need, and often forgotten by the world. While his family rejoices in his Home-going, Bob leaves behind many to miss his presence on Earth: son Byron (Linda) Emmert and children BJ (Jess) Emmert, Tyler (Sarah) Emmert, Angela (Landon) Oldenburger; daughter Cheryl (Dan) Hauge and children Landon Hauge, Chad (Alicia) Hauge, and Charissa (Jake) Hansen; son Mike (Marlene) and children Bailee (Blake) Humphrey, Tess (Connor) Johnson, Allie (Micah) Bargan, and Walker (Emily) Emmert; great-grandchildren Eisley Emmert, Reagan Emmert, Coen Emmert, Brynn Emmert, Weston Emmert, Cooper Oldenburger, Mae Emmert, Paxton Oldenburger, Genepy Hauge, Osa Johnson, Beulah Hauge, Holden Humphrey, and Riggins Oldenburger. Bob's family requests that no flowers or plants are sent.
