Rita Weisner

Rita Marie Weisner was born July 1, 1927 in Lamberton, MN to Michael and Katherine (Diedrich) Schultz. A lifetime resident of Lamberton, Rita graduated from Lamberton High School in 1945 then attended Mankato State University for her Teacher's Degree. She was united in marriage to Ervin Weisner in 1949 in Mankato. Rita taught at Good Thunder, Revere, and Highwater Township country school until stopping to raise her family. She later substitute taught at several surrounding schools. Rita was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Christian Women, and Lady Foresters. She was a former Girl Scout leader, sold Avon, and led a corn de-tasseling crew for DeKalb for 15 years. Rita enjoyed playing the clarinet in high school, gardening, traveling, her pets, and going to area parades and town celebrations. She became a resident of Valley View Manor in August of 2007. Rita Weisner died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Valley View Manor at the age of 85 years. She is survived by children- Steve (Earlene) Weisner of Circle Pines, Ron Weisner of Tennessee, Mary Kay (Jim) Hagert of Olivia, Tom (Shavon) Weisner of San Jose, CA, and James (Kandi) Weisner of Hollister, CA; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother Roman Schultz of Gull Lake; and sister Kathleen Baptista of Brazil.
