Richard Schroeder

Richard Alan Schroeder was born on November 18, 1930 in Aurora, IL, the son of Fred and Clara (Wolfe) Schroeder. He attended school in Comfrey, MN. Richard enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 9, 1952 and was discharged November 22, 1954. He was united in marriage to Mary C. Schroepfer and she died in 1964. Richard was united in marriage to Mary A. Schenk in 1966 in Springfield. The couple lived in Stately Township where Richard worked as a farm hand and truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, Polka music, auctions, and spending time with his auctions buddies. Richard died on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife - Mary A. Schroeder of Springfield; children - Tom (Mary) Schroeder, Audrey (John) Matter, Paul (Becky) Schroeder, Donald (Wanda) Schroeder, Alan (Dawn) Schroeder, Robert Schroeder, David Schroeder, and Mike Schroeder; 19 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife - Mary C. Schroeder; a daughter in infancy; a granddaughter; and brothers - Raymond, Ralph, and Armin.
