Richard Reiner

Rich died on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 71 years. Richard Reiner was born to Frank and Ernestine (Sturm) Reiner on June 23, 1936 in Springfield. He attended Bashaw Township District 59, St. Raphael's Catholic School (Springfield) and graduated from Comfrey High School in 1954. After graduating, Rich worked for Del Monte in Sleepy Eye and also farmed the homestead acreage with his family. On August 6th, 1957, Rich married Carol (Meinert) in Sleepy Eye. In 1964, Rich started auctioneering with Ferd Krenz from Sleepy Eye. He became a licensed real estate broker in 1976 and in the same year moved Reiner Real Estate and Auctioneering to its locale on Central Street, Springfield. Rich's greatest reward in life was building strong relationships with family, friends and community. He truly loved his profession and valued his interactions with all - he visited these memories often. He is survived by his daughters - Roxanne and husband Mark Malecek of Redwood Falls, Linda Henriksen and friend David Rettey of Springfield, Rhonda and husband Dean Evers of Comfrey, Sheila and husband Jon Roiger of Springfield, Stacie and husband Tom Johnson Plymoth, MN; grandchildren - Alyssa (Bryan) Toft, Amanda, Abby, Ahnna Malecek, Landon and Cody Henriksen, Marlayna and Carissa Evers, Maren, Maleah and Mitchell Roiger, Greta and Cleo Johnson; brothers - Albert Reiner of Sanborn, Edward and Marge Reiner of Springfield; sister - Lorraine and Bill Lueck of Excelsior; brother-in-law - Mel Pelzel of Sleepy Eye; special friend - Margaret Reiner of Chatfield, MN and her family - Michael and Debra Remme, Kami and Steve Rogers, Jeffrey and Connie Remme. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol in 1999, brother - Alfred Fritz Reiner, sister - Marcella Pelzel, sisters-in-law - Elaine Reiner and RoseMary Reiner.
