Richard Paul

Richard Paul age 85, of Saint James, Minnesota died on October 21, 2018, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Saint James, Minnesota. Earl 'Richard' Paul was born November 13, 1932, in Butterfield, MN to Leslie and Genevieve (Wolner) Paul. He graduated from St. James High School then served with the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Following his honorable discharge, Richard returned to the St. James area where he owned a Gulf gas station, worked as a mechanic for Allis-Chalmers, and owned his own repair shop. He was united in marriage to Marian McCabe on March 17, 1954, in Georgia. Richard was a lifetime mechanic, a relay driver for the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper from Mankato to Sioux Falls, and was a Hudson automobile enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and car shows. Richard was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Club. Richard Paul died Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan in St. James at the age of 85. He is survived by wife Marian; children- Mary (David) Stevensen of Madelia, Connie (Myron) Elg of Dickens, IA, Debora (Rich) Sandvold of Brookings, SD, Richard Leslie (Doreen) Paul of St. James, Patricia (Michael) Tasse of Prior Lake, Linda (Russ) Rigdon of Mankato, and Brad (Kari) Paul of New Hope; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters- Dorothy Hoeft, Gloria Smith, Dianne Meyenberg, and Margaret Wiese. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Eileen Jablinski; and brothers- Jack, David, and Kenny Paul.
