Richard "Rich" E. Martinka

Richard Emil Martinka was born on December 1, 1943 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the son of Sylvester and Lucille (Eickholt) Martinka. He grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye. Richard married Rose Zarn on May 1, 1965 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. He worked for Pietrus, Culligan and AMPI where he retired at the age of 65. Richard was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the garage on some project or another and all the dogs that came to visit. What brought him the greatest joy was seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren.Richard is survived by his wife, Rose of almost 52 years, sons, Shawn Martinka of Evan, Shane Martinka of Sleepy Eye, daughter, Shanon (Dan) Haala of New Ulm, grandchildren, Reva (Phil) Weber, Jordan Martinka, Saydi Martinka, Nick Martinka, Laura Martinka, Megan Haala, Carter Haala and Madelyn Haala, great grandchildren, Jack Schumacher and Madden Martinka, sisters, Marvis Ann Becker of International Falls, Jackie Hofstedt of Superior, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Sharon Martinka and many aunts and uncles.
