Richard Gilbertson

Richard Dick' Gilbertson, age 89, of St. James, died on Monday, November 8, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society - The Village in Mountain Lake. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. Richard Alan Dick' Gilbertson was born on September 9, 1932, at Boyd,Minnesota, the son of George and Helen Gilbertson. Dick grew up in Boyd where he graduated from high school. He joined the military for 4 years. He married Marlys Roiland on November 17, 1962 in Louisburg, MN. The couple made their home in Arco, MN later loving to St. James. Dick worked as the grain manager at WFS until he retired. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and the men's group there. He also belonged to the St. James VFW and American Legion. Dick enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his son Pete Gilbertson of St. James, a sister Norma Kussetz of North Dakota. He's preceded in death by his wife, son Rick and his parents.
