Richard Clifford Engen

Richard Clifford Engen age 83, of Lamberton, MN died on June 18, 2024, at his home.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton Chapel and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Highwater Lutheran Church, Lamberton. Service will be held at Highwater Lutheran Church, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Pastor Harvey Pedersen. Interment will be at the Highwater Lutheran Cemetery in Lamberton, MN.

Richard Clifford Engen was born on August 4, 1940 in Tracy, MN the son of Clifford and Ida (Foss) Engen. He attended school until the 10th grade. On January 7, 1961 Richard was united in marriage to Beverly Menken at the Methodist Church in Jeffers, MN.

Richard lived his entire life on the same farm that he grew up on in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County. He loved farming and collecting IH tractors. He always enjoyed going to the Clay County Fair in Spencer, IA each year. He could also be found at different shows including farm, antique tractors, and threshing. His favorite show to attend was Hanley Falls. Richard and Beverly spent many winters in Las Vegas , NV, and many summers camping at Spirit Lake, IA. He played on a couples pool league with Beverly. Richard was a lifelong member of Highwater Lutheran Church and served on the church board.

Richard is survived by his children, Catherine (Thomas) Halter and Kenneth Engen; granddaughters, Stephanie Kurtz and her son, David Kurtz III, Brianna (Kyle) Peterson and their daughter, Madisyn Peterson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; infant daughter, Pamela Jean Engen; brothers, Clair (Lois) Engen and Roger (Marlis) Engen; niece, Susie Engen and nephew, Kevin Engen.
