Rhoda Mary Alice (Harris) Dietz was born on September 6, 1918 in Minneapolis, MN to Arthur William and Mabel Alice (Geier) Harris while her mother was at the State Fair. She married Raymond J. Dietz on June 3, 1941 in Sleepy Eye, MN. She lived all her life in Sleepy Eye and loved swimming in Lake Sleepy Eye. Rhoda was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was active at St. Mary's Catholic Church, teaching religion to children and designing seasonal environments for services. She was active in her community as a Camp Fire Leader for girls and 4-H leader of the Sleepy Eye Busy Bees. Rhoda was an excellent seamstress and passed her love and knowledge of sewing to her daughters as well as those in 4-H. Rhoda's quilts were works of art and love and were gifts to her children and their children. She was a great baker and enjoyed sharing her rolls and bars with the community, church and family. She enjoyed traveling both in the US, notably Alaska and US National Parks and outside the country, New Zealand and the Holy Land. She was an avid reader on all kinds of subjects even when her sight was failing she could read three books a week. She is survived by her son, Paul (Janice) Dietz, daughter, Juliann (Darrell) Ogilvie, son, Phillip (Sue Hobbs) Dietz, daughter, Kathryn (Vernard) Domeier, grandchildren, Eric (Joy Daley) Dietz, Daniel (Amritha Vaz) Dietz, Sherri (Bjorn) Nelson, Michelle Ogilvie, Melanie Ogilvie, Jaclyn (Michael) McCarthy, Cyrus Dietz, Eliza Dietz, Danna Trebesch, Tanya (Kevin) Hinrichs, Brad Domeier, Valerie Jongbloedt, Crystal (Robert) Roedler, great grandchildren, Iris Vaz-Dietz, Rachel (Taylor) Court, Jennifer Nelson, Riley McCarthy, Teagan McCarthy, Alexa Dietz, Austin Trebesch, Caleb Trebesch, Jack Hinrichs, Kaila Domeier, Veronica Jongbloedt, Raymond Jongbloedt, Dresden Roedler and Theodore Roedler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Joseph Dietz, son, James Anthony Dietz and grandson, Scott Andrew Dietz.
