Reinhart Steinle was born on the family farm near Butterfield, MN to Reinhart and Anna (Falk) Steinle on August 25, 1902. He received his education at the German School north of Butterfield. Reinhart was baptized upon confession of his faith at the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN. He later became a member of the First Mennonite Church north of Butterfield, where he remained an active member and served as treasurer for many years. On November 22, 1934, Reinhart was united in marriage to Ethel Sawatzky at her home north of St. James, MN. They made their home and farmed on his family farm until retiring and moving in to Butterfield in 1978. Besides farming and custom baling, swathing, combining and corn shelling, Reinhart owned and operated the Country Store in Sveadahl, MN for nearly 20 years. He also served on the township board for a number of years. He enjoyed playing games, following the Minnesota Twins and other sports, attending local high school games and activities, being involved on the farm, and cutting and splitting wood to heat his home. Reinhart brought MM's to church every Sunday for the children of all ages. Reinhart Steinle died on Thursday evening, March 30, 2006, at the Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James, MN. Reinhart is survived by his wife, Ethel Steinle of Butterfield, MN; six children, R.J. and his wife Audrey Steinle of Butterfield, Marilyn Stoesz of Butterfield, Larry and his wife Treva Steinle of St. James, Dan Steinle of Butterfield, Lauren and his wife Lynette Steinle of Butterfield, and Tim Steinle of Butterfield; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Cynthia Steinle; a great grandson, Gabriel Madson; a half brother, Abe Buhler; and three sisters, Anna Derksen, his twin Catherine Tina Fast, and Marie Johnson.
