Rebecca Lee Meinert

Rebecca Lee (Schapekahm) Meinert was born on April 16, 1955 to Egbert "Bert" and Darleen (Schultz) Schapekahm in New Ulm, MN. On July 20, 1974, Rebecca was united in marriage to James Meinert at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Ulm, MN. She devoted her life to being a mother of her children Chad and Ryan. Rebecca loved spending time with her family and time at the lake. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, crafts, writing poetry, taking pictures, decorating, and nature. Rebecca died on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Sleepy Eye Medical Center, at the age of 66. She is survived by her husband Jim Meinert of Sleepy Eye; son Chad and wife Jen Meinert and grandson Hunter Meinert of Brandon, SD; son Ryan and wife Barb Meinert and grandchildren Ethan and Victoria Meinert of Victoria; and siblings - Sue Wales of St. Paul Park, Steve Schapekahm of Alexandria, Lisa Schneider of New Ulm, and Tammy VanWinkle of Lakeville. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Darleen Schapekahm and infant grandson Tate Ryan Meinert.
