Raynold Knutson

Raynold 'Donnie' Knutson was born November 23, 1932, in Camp Lake Township, Pope County, the son of John and Theolina (Ovrebo) Knutson. He attended District 29 country school in Camp Lake Township and then moved to South St. Paul to work at the stockyards. On November 22, 1958, Donnie was united in marriage to Ethel Rodahl in Benson, MN. Donnie drove a gravel truck near Nisswa before the couple moved to Benson. They then moved to Walnut Grove in 1962, and later to Revere in 1981. Donnie worked as a farm hand and also drove truck for Western Community Action. Following Ethel's death in 1996, Donnie moved into Lamberton in 1997, and later to Valley View Manor in 2004. He was a former member of Revere Lutheran Church and a current member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Donnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Twins, playing pool, reading newspapers and magazines, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Raynold Donavon Knutson died Monday, June 5, 2006, at Valley View Manor. Survivors include children- Doreen and husband Joe Serbus of Bird Island and their children Joseph, Kelsey and Trevor; Darrell Knutson of Lamberton and his children Jada and Beau; Jonathan and wife Susan Knutson of Lamberton and their children Jerilyn, Jeremy, Nathan, Mackenzie and Brandon; Janice Knutson of Lamberton and special friend Chad Kamolz and her child Dylan; and Jocelyn and husband Jay Geske of Lamberton and their children Aaron and Madelyn; brother- Ernest and wife Adeline Knutson of Virginia, MN; and sister-in-law- Mary Knutson of Grand Forks, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife- Ethel; infant son- Michael; brothers- Lawrence, Peter, Corbin, Justine and Orville; and sister- Juella Nelson.
