Raymond Peterson

Ray Peterson, age 78, of Butterfield passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health Care System in Mankato. A private family graveside service will be held at the Butterfield City Cemetery at a later date. Raymond Monte Peterson was born on November 25, 1942 in Comfrey, MN, the son of Leslie Pete' and Ida (Siegmann) Peterson. He grew up on the family farm near Comfrey. He was baptized on December 20, 1942 and confirmed March 25, 1956 at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Ray served in the Army from 1961 until 1964 and was discharge at the rank of Sgt. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Karg in New Ulm on July 17, 1965. The couple made their home in Butterfield where Ray worked as a truck driver. Over the years he had worked for UPS, Vince Schwieger Trucking, Butterfield Foods and Hager Trucking. He is survived by his wife Kathy Peterson of Butterfield, daughter Kelly (Andy) Fermoyle and their daughter Liv all of Moline, ILL, son Ross Peterson of Moline, ILL, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Elaine and Howard Hilbert of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold and in-laws Edward and Verna Karg.
