Raymond Kral

There will be a parish prayer service Tuesday at the funeral home at 6pm. Raymond Otto Kral was born on December 7, 1916 in Lake Hanska Township, MN the son of Lorenz Kral, Jr. Martha (Braulick) Kral Soukup. He grew up and attended Lake Hanska Country School. Ray farmed with his father and married Loretta Haala on May 24, 1938 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Stark Township where Ray farmed and was a seed corn dealer for many years. Loretta preceded him in death on June 6, 1983. Ray married Sophie Hillesheim on February 16, 1985 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They made their home in Sleepy Eye until the present time. Ray was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the KC's, a 75 year member of the Catholic Aid Association and a past member of the Sigel Creamery Board. Ray loved to play cards and listen to old time music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include, his wife Sophie Kral of Sleepy Eye, children, Marvin (Eileen) Kral of Sleepy Eye, Phyllis (Frederick) Juni of New Ulm, Linus (Janet) Kral of Sleepy Eye, Ray (Susan) Kral, Jr. of Sleepy Eye, step-children, Patty (Henry) Brandel of Atwater, Charlene (Gilbert) Peichel of Dell Rapids, SD, Johnora (Lonnie) DeGregoris of AZ, Stephen (Lois) Hillesheim of Sleepy Eye, Renee (Lonnie) Wendinger of Sleepy Eye, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Evelyn Forstner of New Ulm, and brother, Leslie (Jo) Kral of San Jose, CA. Ray is also survived by many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister husband, Lorene (Ben) Wurtzberger, brother-in-law, Gene Forstner and wife Loretta.
