Raymond Johnson

January 26, 1922 — April 15, 2005

Raymond G. Johnson was born January 26, 1922 in Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of George and Anna (Raveling) Johnson. Raymond served in the US Army from Nov. 9, 1942 until Nov. 7, 1945. Ray married Bonnie Pauling on February 1, 1951. The couple lived in Sioux Falls, SD, Sherwood, OR, and in 1980 they moved to a farm near Revere. He worked at the Farmers Livestock in Lamberton and Wabasso. Ray enjoyed working in his strawberry and raspberry patches, woodworking, and being with his children and grandchildren. Ray was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lamberton and the Lamberton American Legion Post #41. Ray died on Friday April 15, 2005 at Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton, MN. He is survived by his children - Mark Johnson of Revere; Diana and husband Harry Dickerson of Tualatin, OR; Renae and husband Charles Tobey of Walnut Grove, and Jayme and husband Gary Warner of Revere; grandchildren - Michele and husband Jeff Machovsky of Knoxville, IA, Micah Dickerson of Tualatin, OR, Rian Dickerson of Fort Hood, TX, and Libbey Warner of Revere; a great grandson - William Anderson - Dickerson of Tualatin, OR; a brother - Elmer Johnson of Lamberton, and sisters - LaVonne and husband Clyde Prims of Tracy, MN and Juanita and husband LuVerne Pankonin of Brookings, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, brothers - John, and Jacob; and a sister - Lorraine Martius.
