Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Raquel Navarro, 55, of Mankato, MN, who passed away on November 18th, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at Sturm Funeral Home, 906 10th Ave S, Saint James, MN 56081. A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Raquel was born on March 2nd, 1970, to Gillermina and Alfredo Jr. Navarro in Lamar, Texas, the second youngest of 4 children. She then birthed 4 beautiful children of her own. Raquel was also a devoted grandmother to 6 grandchildren, all of whom were the center of her world.
Raquel loved her siblings and enjoyed playing with them all. She especially enjoyed playing with dolls as a little girl. She developed a love for the outdoors at an early age that only grew as she got older. She had a passion for animals specifically horses and giraffes.
Raquel settled down in Minnesota in the early 2000s with her significant other Jaime Flores and her children. She embraced her role as a para-professional helping and assisting children in the Saint James Public School System whom she was assigned to care for. She loved her job and all the children she served. She served as an extraordinary example and taught her children the discipline of hard work and the importance of religion.
In her free time, Raquel loved to participate in church activities recently attending a month-long church retreat which she cherished every moment. She also enjoyed her lifelong passion of spending time outdoors from fishing, hiking, swimming, to simply spending time with her loved ones under the warm sun. One of her favorite things to enjoy was snuggling up to her cat, Tahla. Raquel lived a life of simplicity and love.
Raquel is survived by her sons, Jaime, Abraham, Brandon; sisters, Rose and Jessica; brothers, Richard and Isreal; mother, Girmina; father, Alfredo; daughters-in-law, Abby, Elizabeth and Jazmine; and grandchildren, Peyton, Charles, Nelia, Theodore, Jaydon and Jasper.
Raquel was preceded in death by her son, Gabriel.
