Randy Joe Burdick was born on January 15, 1958 in Redwood Falls, the son of Donald E. and Mavis L. (Eaton) Burdick. Randy lived in North Redwood until the age of 5, at which time he moved with his siblings to Hector and lived with Calvin and Mavis Johnson, a foster family. Randy was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Cosmos, MN. As a young child he attended Camp Courage: and was a member of the local 4-H Club. He exhibited chickens, rabbits, and vegetable. He graduated from Hector Public High School in 1978. Randy was an avid reader, especially books about history and Comedy. Randy lived life with a sense of adventure having lived many places; Salt Lake City, Utah, San Francisco, CA, Chicago, IL, and Florida to name just a few. Randy was proud of his 4 year AA commitment. Randy Joe Burdick, age 49 of Minneapolis, MN died on Monday, January 7, 2008 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. He is survived by his mother - Mavis Burdick of Estherville, IA; a brother - Donald R. Burdick of Hudson, SD; sisters - Crystal (Roland) Falk of Sanborn, MN and Cindy (Jerry) Langendorfer of Worthington, MN; nieces and nephews - Amanda Burdick, Beth Ann Burdick, Derek Langendorfer, Anthony Falk, and fiance Amanda Carter, Timothy Falk, Clarissa Falk and fianc Steve Hoffman, Sarah Langendorfer, Erin Langendorfer, and Micah Langendorfer; and a great niece - Lila Anna Rose Carter. He is preceded in death by his father - Donald E. Burdick; grandparents - Clark and Clara Burdick and Arthur and Pearl Eaton; and his foster mother - Mavis Vitums.
