Priscilla Jean Severson

Priscilla Jean (Helgo) Severson, daughter of John and Pearl (Pederson) Helgo was born on February 19, 1922 in Madelia. She graduated from Madelia High School in 1940. Priscilla married Warner Severson on July 4th, 1945 at the church parsonage. She worked at various retail stores and offices, the last two were Minnegasco and Culligan. She was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she served as Financial Secretary, Trustee, Deacon and Cradle Roll. To her family she was known as "Cella". She took great pleasure in serving, being chair for the 3 books of "A Sentimental Journey" which are a history (1889-2010) of the Madelia High School Alumni Association. She enjoyed volunteering, walking, gardening, reading and working with the public. Priscilla Jean Severson age 94, of Madelia, MN died on September 12, 2016 at the Madelia Community Hospital. Priscilla is survived by nephews, Charles (Dorothy) Hakes, Robert (Linda) Nelson, both of Madelia; niece, Kristine Tande of St. Louis Park; great-nieces and nephews, LeRae (Doug) Sanders, Lisa (Jimmy) Hopkins, Amy (Chad) Wilson, Kim (Kyle) Peterson, Rhys Tande, Seth (Kaye) Tande, Thea (Jeremy) Leiferman; great-great-nieces and nephews, Lyndsy Urban, Kendra Reineking, Kacee Urban, Anna Hopkins, Kaden, Riley and Chase Wilson, Mckenzie, Andrew and Zachary Peterson, Talyn, Kolten and Brecken Tande, Olivia and Celia Leiferman; great-great-great-nephew, Jayce Huinansaca; nephews and nieces-in-law, Margaret (Severson) Balon, John, Robert, Wayne and Gary Schultz, Sandra Howard, Wendy Sharp and Don Severson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner Severson (1978), sisters, Joan Zimmerman (1992) and Elvaina Nelson (2015), nephews, David Hakes (1983) and Tom Severson (2008). In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to the Faith Lutheran Church in Madelia.
