Peter Kenneth Reuter

Peter Kenneth Reuter was born January 24, 1921, on the family farm near Lismore, Minnesota. He was the son of Peter Kenneth Reuter, Sr. and Katherine (Schiltz) Reuter. Peter grew up on the farm and attended St. Anthony Catholic School in Lismore. Peter worked with his father on the family farm for several years. On April 2, 1945, he was united in marriage to Marcella Probst in Wilmont, MN. The couple made their home on farm NW of Lismore. They raised their nine children on the farm. He loved to raise livestock and worked the farm until retiring in 1988 when they moved to St. James. Peter served on St. Anthony Catholic Church Board several times, was active in the Knights of Columbus and was a board member of the Lismore Elevator. Peter enjoyed trap shooting in Luverne, hunting, trapping, fishing and reading. His family will remember him for his incredible memory. Peter Reuter passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James, he was 94 years of age. Peter is survived by his children; Ken (Sue) Reuter of Sioux Falls, Karen (Jim) Guentzel of New Prague, Paulette (Art) Posch of Santa Barbara, CA, Mary Lou Reuter of Gloucester, MA, Jerry (Lois) Reuter of Minnetonka, Bob (Becki) Reuter of St. James, Chuck Reuter of Inver Grove Heights, Steve Reuter of Bloomington, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Ed (Marge) Probst of New Richmand, WI, Tom (Elaine) Probst of Fulda, Esther Reuter of Luverne, Evelyn Reuter of Adrian, and a great-aunt-in-law; Helen Spartz of Remer, MN. He is preceded in death by his wife Marcella, daughter Melissa "Missy" Wittry, parents Peter and Katherine, brothers Lornie Reuter, Clarence Reuter, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Leona and Ralph Furstenberg, and brother-in-law Chuck Probst.
