Peter Peters

Peter G. Peters, the son of Gerhard D. and Elizabeth (Penner) Peters was born on February 9, 1925 near Mountain Lake, MN. He received his education at District #47 Country School and the Mountain Lake Public School. On September 29, 1946. Peter was baptized upon confession of his faith at the Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake. Peter was united in marriage to Berniece Anna Meyer on January 16, 1948, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. They made their home northeast ofButterfield, MN, where Peter farmed and worked for the Butterfield Elevator. In 1968, they moved in to Butterfield. He also worked for Harvestore Silo for a short period, and he was custodian at the Butterfield Public School for many years. Peter loved farming, and he also enjoyed woodworking, attending and watching sporting events with his sons - especially basketball, and he volunteered in the community and at the Community Bible Church of Butterfield where is was a member. Peter died on Sunday evening, Feburary 11, 2007, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, MN, at the age of 82 years and 2 days. Peter is survived by his wife, Berniece Peters of Chaska, MN; 3 sons, Michael Peters of Little Falls, MN, Keith and his wife Gail Peters of Waconia, MN, and Lauren and his wife Stacy Peters of Prior Lake, MN; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Henry and Isaac Peters of Mountain Lake; a sister, Emma Krause of Omaha, NE; a sister-in-law, Grace Peters of Mountain Lake; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, George, Diedrik and John Peters; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Baerg and Olga Rahn.
