Perry Allan Schmidt

Perry Allan Schmidt age 74, of Darfur, MN died on November 21, 2024, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Saint James, MN.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel.

Perry Allan Schmidt, son of Abe and Mable (Stahl) Schmidt, was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota on March 31, 1950.

He received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN.

Perry graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School in 1968 and then attended Southwest State College in Marshall, MN.

He enlisted December 10, 1969 in the Army Reserves and was discharged from the United States Armed Forces December 9, 1989 after 20 years of Service.  Perry continued working as a federal civil service computer specialist. His last assignment was an information management computer specialist for the Everglades National Park System in Florida. He retired March 31, 2010.

Perry enjoyed hunting, fishing (well actually just being on the lake - he didn’t really care if he caught anything), and of course golfing.

Perry is survived by his sister, Kathleen Penner of Butterfield, MN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Mable Schmidt; two sisters, Ardella and Sheryl at birth, and brother-in-law, Norman Penner.
