Peggy Firme

Peggy Lee McKibbon, the daughter of Harvey and Mabel (Sutton) McKibbon was born on April 9, 1932, in Lincoln, NE. She graduated from high school in 1950, at Kearney, NE. On October 5, 1952, Peggy was united in marriage to LaVerne Firme at Kearney. They made their home in Kearney until 1956, when they moved to Dickinson, ND, Albert Lea, MN, and Burnsville, MN before settling in Mountain Lake, MN in 1968. She worked at Greeley Gas Co. and the Public Library for many years, and she and LaVerne operated the County Line Bar Grill in Ormsby, MN for several years. Peggy was active in the Presbyterian Women, the Mountain Lake Golf Club, and Wa-Tan-Ye. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading, traveling and old movies, and she had great pride for her family. Peggy and LaVerne loved and cared for each other for 55 years. Peggy entered the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake in the summer of 2005, and this is where she died on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the age of 74 years. Peggy is survived by her husband, LaVerne Firme of Mountain Lake; three children, Pam Radtke and her husband DeLyle of Mountain Lake, Mike Firme and his wife Cindy of Redwood Falls, MN, and Rick Firme and his wife Corinne of Ellendale, MN; six grandchildren, Brandon Radtke, Korey Radtke, Alyssa Winters, Justin Firme, Lindsay Firme and Tyler Firme; four great grandchildren; a brother, Larry McKibbon and his wife Darlene of Gering, NE; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
